We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of The One People Programme run by Joanne Courtney, the Schools and Community Co-ordinator for Dublin Bus, along with Community Garda Derek Doyle who take groups of teens out on a three week programme of fun activities every Saturday. The activities range from football, bowling,fishing and hill-walking to rock climbing, archery and cycling. The programme is all about tackling Antisocial behaviour and racism.
Joanne told us how the programme “breaks down the barriers as the young people get to see the Garda and the bus drivers in a different light. Not just somebody in a uniform. We have great fun on the trips and get to know all the young people within the Tallaght Community”. She also went on to explain how the running of the programme would not be possible, “Without the Management team of The Square Tallaght who generously sponsor the programme”.
