We would like to congratulate everyone that gave up their time to participate in the 12 hour Spinathon that was in aid of ‘Tree of Hope’ last week. The event was in association with Shamrock Rovers, The Maldron Hotel, The Arena, InTallaght Magazine and The Square Towncentre.

The ‘Tree of Hope’ is a community run organisation of local people who strive to provide a place of comfort where survivors can remember their loved ones lost to suicide or living with depression. The groups of volunteers have already planted a number of trees throughout Tallaght so that loved ones have a special place to visit.

The ‘Tree of Hope’ team is hoping to raise enough funds to buy plaques for all their trees already planted along with an extended tree planting programme.

The Spinathon kicked off with an early start here at the Square from 10am to 5pm and the continued over to Tallaght Stadium from 5pm to 10pm. All levels of fitness were welcome and everyone involved had a great day. Again thank you to everyone who helped raise money for such a great cause.
